Nigeria Moves Up In FIFA Rankings

The Super Eagles have advanced 10 spots in the November FIFA World Cup rankings.

On Thursday, FIFA’s website ranked the team at 50 along with Burkina Faso and Slovenia.

The Nigerian team gained 616 points in November, after a 3-1 victory over Algeria during the 2018 World Cup qualifier.

The new ranking now places Nigeria behind Senegal, Egypt, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Algeria, and Congo DR on the continental level.

Other teams in the most recent FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings have advanced as well.

Worldwide, Argentina remains number one for November; however it is being challenged buy rival Brazil.

The rankings in December will be the final rankings for 2016, and will be published on FIFA’s website by December 22.
