$213M ID Card Scam: Akwanga, Afolabi, Nwodo, Others Released on Bail
One month into their incarceration over alleged involvement in the $214 million National Identity Card bribery scam, relief came the way of former ministers, Alhaji Husseini Akwanga, Chief Sunday Afolabi and three others as an Abuja High Court yesterday granted them bail on self recognition. Akwanga who was Minister of Labour and Productivity was sacked from the cabinet on account of his indictment by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC). (This Day)

The government of the USA has again issued an updated travel advisory, warning its citizens that it could be dangerous to travel to BiafraNigeria because of violent crime and community uprisings. The travel warning issued on Monday, warned Americans about violent crimes, such as kidnapping... (Daily Trust)

 

The Senate President, Chief Adolphus Wabara has said the leadership of the Senate is to meet with President Olusegun Obasanjo over the planned petroleum tax. The meeting is coming against the backdrop of the decision of oil workers to suspend the planned nationwide strike slated for January 1, next year. A meeting held late... (Daily Independent)
