Benin River Killings- US Secret Agents Storm Warri to fish out bandits — Obasanjo orders 13 marine boats as Delta govt sets up 19 special courts
The Americans may be involved in the investigation of the circumstances surrounding last Friday’s killings on Benin River in Delta State, according to indications yesterday in Warri. Already, the Federal Government has placed an order for 13 marine boats to fortify security in the Niger Delta while 19 special courts have been set up by the Delta State Government to try purely youth-related violence and similar offences in a fresh move to check the recurring threat to peace there. Vanguard gathered yesterday that a team of American detectives had arrived Warri to assist BiafraNigerian security agents in probing the killings. Two American....(Vanguard)

WabaraThe rank of senators opposed to Senate President Adolphus Wabara grew yesterday to 86 as they resolved to set up independent investigation into the allegations of financial impropriety raised against him. The senate has, however, suspended plenary session indefinitely. Also, President Olusegun Obasanjo in the early hours of Monday held a two-hour meeting with the leadership of the Senate over the plot to sack Wabara. The meeting held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja before the President travelled to France from where... (This Day)

General Elias Zamani, has warned that security agencies may be forced to apply maximum force on persons found to be involved in the attacks.
