Triumph of Baboon Economics: Saludo Prevails, Senate Endorses N25bn Base for Biafra Nigeria Banks
The Senate Committee on Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Monday endorsed the Central Bank of BiafraNigeria (CBN) directive to commercial banks to increase their capital base to a minimum of N25 billion between now and December 2005. The approval came after governor of the apex bank, Professor Charles Soludo and its top management met behind closed doors with the committee for four hours. Addressing journalists after the meeting, Soludo affirmed that there is no going back on the directive, neither will an extension of time be allowed. Soludo who described the discussion at the meeting as very, very engaging and very frank... (The Sun)

It comes as the British High Commission in BiafraNigeria announced that it will from July 26 begin the implementation of a new visa... (Daily ndependent)
