Orji Kalu's Mother Sends Save our Son (SOS) Call to Anenih: Kalu Blames Obasanjo and PDP for Killings
The alleged death threat on Governor Orji Kalu by PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Chief Anthony Anenih, assumed a new dimension yesterday after a five-man team, claiming to have been sent by the governor’s mother, visited Chief Anenih in Abuja to plead for the governor. However, Gov Kalu speaking in Lagos denied that his mother sent emissaries to Chief Anenih in Abuja even as he said he had lost faith in the ruling People's Democractic Party (PDP). Also yesterday, the governor's mother, Eunice Kalu, denied that she sent anybody or group of people to Chief Anenih. The delegation comprised Chief Joshua Ogbonnaya, a PDP leader in Abia State; Chief Law Maduka; Chief B. A Meregini; Chief Obike and Sir J. K. Daniel. (Vanguard)

According to the Red Cross, at least 16 people were injured in the blaze which broke out on Tuesday night. (BBC)
