BNW _ PDP Chair Audu Ogbeh

Judicial Council Injected Sanity: PDP Won’t Unseat its Govs, says Ogbeh
National Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Audu Ogbeh, yesterday debunked insinuations that the President is plotting to unseat some of the party’s governors using the Election Petition Tribunals. Speaking during a solidarity visit to Governor Boni Haruna of Adamawa State in Yola, he said the PDP national leadership has taken over the process of appealing the judgement of the tribunal which voided Haruna’s election. He further hinted that the PDP might petition the National Judicial Commission (NJC) over the conduct of members of the election petition tribunal which nullified the election of Gov. Boni Haruna of Adamawa State. Said he: "We will soon consider the petition. The judiciary must not get muddled up with the political system as this will lead to confusion and overheat the system." Ogbeh noted that "although we do not intend to question the technicality of the legal process, the judiciary must not get muddled up with the political system." He commended the National Judiciary Council for injecting sanity into the system. "We will remain law abiding, but we will challenge the verdict in court," he added. (Champion)
