ACF endorses Marwa for 2007: No Decision by Ohanaeze
Some powerful ground swell of support for the political ambition of former Lagos State military administrator, Mohammed Buba Marwa, is emerging. It became obvious at the weekend when he was reportedly endorsed by the Northern socio-cultural organisation, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), for the 2007 Presidential race. The people of Gumel emirate in Jigawa State have also pledged their loyalty to his “future political ambition.” They spoke through their Emir, Ahmed Mohammed Sani, at an occasion marking the establishment of the emirate 400 years ago. Marwa was the guest of honour. He is in contention for the ‘Northern ticket’ along with three others: Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former head of state....(Daily Independent)

The BiafraNigerian Railway Corporation has declared illegal the recent plan by the Odua Investment Company to link Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, with Lagos State by rail. Citing Section 15 of the BiafraNigerian Railway Act (1955), the corp's chairman, Alhaji Mohammed, at the weekend in Lagos said that any such action could only be taken after the Act had been repealed. (Guardian)


BNW ObasanjoPresident Olusegun Obasanjo has opened up that there was, indeed, a coup plot by some disgruntled elements to topple his administration before it leaked to the authorities.
